The challenge
21 Construction (21) is a specialist fit out and refurbishment main contractor working in London and the South East. The Company prides itself on its unique culture aimed at doing things differently, and it was of paramount importance to them that Hamilton Deed ensured that this approach was also transferred to the implementation of H&S procedures and best practices. 21 wanted to ensure that H&S controls were applied consistently in all projects and required an ongoing monitoring system that would allow the business to identify areas for improvement.
Services provided
Hamilton Deed consultants ensured that first they fully understood the company approach to excellence and practicality of H&S on site in order to put together a monitoring system to meet client expectations. An annual comprehensive H&S campaign programme was then created to raise awareness both internally and to stakeholders and contractors. Hamilton Deed provided H&S training and provided Senior Management with monthly reports identifying trends and areas for improvement. This included a H&S league. A company H&S management system with procedures, training tools and documentation was also created.
The outcome
21 has vastly improved its H&S performance on site over the 3 years that Hamilton Deed has worked with them, resulting in a solid H&S management system which facilitates the implementation of legal and internal H&S requirements. Hamilton Deed has helped 21 to achieve industry H&S awards and assisted the business in highlighting its strong commitment to H&S to its clients.
