The challenge
FAA is a commercial fabricator and installer delivering projects primarily in the South East and London area. FAA required support on their manufacturing premises and sites with H&S monitoring and relevant documentation to ensure that Senior Management had the confidence that the control measures were being implemented correctly to ensure all its operations were being conducted safely.
Services provided
Hamilton Deed consultants conducted an assessment using the Compliance Audit Measure tool (CAM) on the business to assess the H&S culture and risks to the business. The results helped the Directors to prioritise the H&S initiatives to obtain the most efficient outcomes. Hamilton Deed worked closely with the lead teams and managers to understand the constrains at the factory and on site and provide the correct risk assessments, work instructions and control and monitoring measures to improve the performance. As a result, FAA implemented a H&S management system in the factory and on site. Following this success, the company decided to further develop their management system and incorporate the quality and environmental aspect to it using ISO standards as reference with the view to getting the integrated management system certified.
The outcome
Over a period of 12 months, Hamilton Deed consultants helped FAA to demonstrate the requirements from the international standards and consequently FAA obtained certification against ISO 9001/ ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001. We have since then kept supporting the business in their continuous improvement journey including the successful transition to ISO 45001. FAA now has a robust integrated management system in place which helps the business to provide a consistent and efficient quality service and product, reduces their environmental impact, improves engagement with employees and keeps all workers safe.
